LORD FARQUAAD REVISITED

LORD FARQUAAD REVISITED

Three years ago, the Island Park News published "Lord Farquaad," an article for Upstream Idaho, describing some of the problems with the way our government was managing COVID-19. I found an omitted statement that should have been included. "When this is over, how we deal with Covid-19 will go down in history as the most spectacularly stupid thing our government has ever done." Not only should that statement have been published, but it was also eerily prophetic. The pandemic management debacle opened the floodgates of even greater and unimaginable governmental stupidity and corruption.

In 2020, I thought that masks were ineffective and that the m-RNA injection was a novel genetic medicine, not a vaccine, that was granted emergency-use authorization in order to combat a weaponized virus that escaped from an elite germ warfare lab in Wuhan, not out in the hinterlands from some Chinese dingbat. The more Dr. Faucci talked, the less I trusted him -- especially when he waffled on masks, changed the very definition of vaccination, and denied that there was US funding for the gain-of-function studies at the Wuhan lab. In any other industry, he would have been fired long ago. As the keeper at the gate of medical research funding, he was too powerful to oppose, especially without independent auditing. Nor do I trust the FDA and CDC, the mainstream media, Pfizer, Moderna, or the parade of businesses and military leaders that have replaced their spines with ESG, DEI, and pronoun building blocks. Using the expanded deep-state government control, bureaucracies are more concerned with performance art and cover-up than they are with defending the constitution.

Since 2020, Schumer, Pelosi, and the current administration have drained our emergency oil reserves and raided the US Treasury, and then printed more money -- basically spending more than they have in the bank, again. Our previously robust economy has been decimated by virtue signaling while doing exactly the opposite of what was needed to be done. No wonder prices and interest rates are up. Janet Yellin, the Secretary of the US Treasury seems blissfully unaware of this problem and is testifying to Congress that everything is fine and that there is no recession, expecting to fool us twice with the same message she gave just before the recession of 2018. Another cover-up artist is Alejandro Mayorkas, US Secretary of Homeland Security, who tells Congress that the border is secure. Uh, huh?

And then there is John Kerry, the first special presidential envoy for the climate. His dire predictions about climate change are pontificated down to the rest of us as if he will be our savior. Climate worry started in 1966 with alarming predictions of a coming "ice age." When the ice failed to materialize, the alarmists switched to "global warming," describing coastal flooding, shrinking ice packs, and too much water from melting ice. With global temperatures failing to rise consistently, it became more politically expedient to re-name the problem "climate change." Whatever the name, the hoax is just the same. Like the many programs on PBS, this week's NATURE shows yet another sad, pretty face describing the dire effects that come with the increase in average temperatures by just a degree or two. Most of these programs fail to mention the giant carbon footprints of China and India -- two of the main polluters refusing to destroy their economies and buy into the Climate Change Fetish. On this particular program, ski resorts were shown having trouble with enough snow and not enough cold weather for their snow-making equipment. Following the PBS shell game of hiding the truth, this program was conveniently filmed during a dry winter and did not include what is happening this winter. 28% of PBS funding in Idaho comes from the state government. Paying tax money to PBS for consistently broadcasting purposefully misleading, highly political misinformation does not leave me with a warm and fuzzy feeling, despite Masterpiece Theater.

Since the time climate worry was introduced in 1966, every prediction of climate change disaster has failed to materialize. The climate-worry fear-mongers simply move the timeline, hoping none of us will notice the failed fulfillment of these catastrophic prophecies. You won’t hear about these failures on the AP-driven local news, PBS, national television, or the cable news channels because the media at that end of the spectrum have become part of the band of Gadianton robbers who wear the robes of the climate change hoax as they raid the treasury and turn off natural energy resources.

Either the liberal media is part of the cover-up, or, there is actually nothing to see here folks — just keep moving on. From where I sit at the headwaters of Henry’s Fork, the consistent series of bureaucratic failures is significant. No wonder the progressives and their media minions don't want you to understand what is actually happening. That is why a man who can't find himself with both hands and a GPS unit is allowed to sit in the driver's seat while someone else steers the bus. If you wonder who that is, you are not alone. You may recall Lord Farquaad saying, “Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.” In the absence of visible qualified leadership, maybe someone like Lord Farquaad is pulling the strings from behind the scenes. Is it just me, or does Lord Farquaad bear a striking resemblance to John Kerry?

Ever vigilant, RT
